ARE YOU READY FOR THE REVOLUTION?

A Word From THE BLACK MADHANE, Founder of Revolutionary Women & Reggae

Greetings;

It is an honor, a privilege, and a great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of Revolutionary Women And Reggae. Words can never truly convey the depth of gratitude that I feel, to share this vision with you, and all Women and Girls around the world. Real "Revolutionaries" are those who confront the tough issues, and help to bring about relevant changes, marked progress, as needed in our world! Thus, Revolutionary Women And Reggae is not just another stage show, but a MOVEMENT, designed to draw attention to the NOTEWORTHY ROLES WOMEN PLAY in DEFINING OUR WORLD, especially through MUSIC, ART & CRAFT, as well as ACTIVISM. That said, I extend sincere gratitude to the INDIVIDUALS and BUSINESSES that have supported The RWR over these years - THANK YOU! Continued appreciation goes out to Queen Mother, HARRIET TUBMAN, by whom we are encouraged, but more importantly, all Praise, Glory, and Honor be unto The MOST-HIGH GOD, through whom we "KEEP GOING!"

Our Mission

To keep the Legacy of HARRIET TUBMAN Alive!!! We do this by bringing Revolutionary Female Artists from different Genres (especially Reggae) to the forefront, so that they may Positively, Consciously, Spiritually and of course, Respectfully... Edu-tain, Inspire and Uplift the Hearts, Minds, Souls, Spirits and in some ways, the Bodies of all WOMEN, Everywhere, especially those who will grasp the opportunity to come out, bear witness and celebrate their LIVE power-packed Live performances!

Bringing Revolutionary Women to the Forefront

As we are all aware, it is rare that FEMALE ARTISTS are given an equal opportunity as their male counterparts in the music industry. The RWR Fest strives to break down these barriers by giving them a platform to showcase their talents and to spread their messages in a way that truly captures their audience. We also invite some MALE ARTISTS as Special Guest Performers, to “open the stage” for the WOMEN by honoring the LIFE of HARRIET TUBMAN and the contributions that WOMEN, from all walks of LIFE, make in our WORLD! Our Special Guest Speakers and Presenters also confront a variety of issues that are either affecting or effecting our WOMEN and CHILDREN.

The Tribute to Harriet Tubman

This African-American Freedom Fighter, was known for her COURAGE, SELFLESS and "REVOLUTIONARY" SPIRIT that took her from the trails of the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD to the front lines of the CIVIL WAR, where she served as a NURSE, SPY and a SOLDIER. Although she was born a SLAVE during the 1820's in Maryland, HARRIET TUBMAN always had GREAT LOVE AND COMPASSION FOR HER PEOPLE!!! It was that LOVE and COMPASSION for her PEOPLE that would later INSPIRE her to help FREE them from captivity. Her premier claim to recognition rests in the wonderful manner in which she operated for 15 years the UNDERGROUND RAILROAD, by which she personally conducted runaway slaves SAFELY into safe territory. Her shrewdness in doing this work was nothing short of MIRACULOUS!!! She made no less than 19 TRIPS to the South-Land, in her DANGEROUS work, SPIRITING away SLAVES to FREEDOM.
